A Much Needed Break From Business As Usual
Hey Everyone! I’m traveling this week. I considered setting aside some time to put together a good ol’ fashioned Root&Rise issue for all of you, but then I was like, “you know what? I’m going to soak this up. They’ll understand.”
And understand you will… when I tell you all about it next Sunday!
For now, here are a few resources I’ve been leaning on this week, some to support me while I’m away from home, and a couple that helped me get through the pre trip jitters.
(The layout is a little different because I’m writing this on my phone.)
I hope you find something useful here!
Letting Go of the Past | Tapping With Renee
I was feeling a bit emotional the day before I was due to depart. I found myself ruminating quite a bit, and by the end of the day I was frustrated. Tapping has worked for me in the past to tamp down overthinking, so I went in search of a video and came across Renee.
I really liked her approach to EFT/tapping, and especially her demeanor. She is so encouraging! I’ll be looking forward to trying more of her videos in the future.
SDR Yoga Nidra | 30 Minutes | Ally Boothroyd
I had to get up really early on the first day of my trip. It’s a three hour drive to the airport and my flight was at 11am, so with winter road conditions I needed to give myself plenty of time.
I was ready for a napdra by the time I got on the plane! This practice from Ally Boothroyd was perfect. I squeezed it in between my complimentary in flight drink and descent.
10 Minute Full Body Stretch | Yoga With Adriene
Adriene’s videos are like comfort food for me. She was the first online yoga teacher I ever practiced with, and I followed her religiously for years.
I’m glad to see she’s making more short videos these days. I used to enjoy her longer ones, but since my practice shifted to prioritize Yoga Nidra, I prefer the shorter asana sequences.
Going Up The Country | Canned Heat
I had to include this. Just for fun.
My son discovered Canned Heat a few years ago and ever since then the band seems to find its way onto every playlist he makes. Especially this song. It always makes me laugh because it’s usually sandwiched in between gangster rap, electronica and modern pop.
My son has been in charge of the aux all week so we’ve been enjoying quite a bit of Canned Heat and I’m not sad about it at all.
That’s All! Like I said, short and sweet.
See you next Sunday. ❤️

Good for you!!! I did both an Alana and nidra this morning and you will be happy to hear they were not from your letter. I was a big girl and got on YouTube and picked out my own. 😁
