Maybe the life you’re trying to keep from falling apart is the life your soul is trying to outgrow.
- Cory Muscara
Taurus season arrived last Sunday, April 27th, bringing with it nearly a full month of energy rooted in grounding, stability, and sensuality. During this time, we’re invited to slow down, build, and nurture — tending to the projects, relationships, and routines that matter most.
It’s a season of slow, steady growth, where patience and persistence take the lead. But it’s also a time to check in with how we receive. Are we allowing ourselves to enjoy life’s simple pleasures? Do we truly believe we are worthy of ease, comfort, and delight?
Taurus teaches us that savoring the tangible world — a delicious meal, the warmth of sunshine on our skin, the beauty of music or art — is not a luxury, but a birthright. What brings you pleasure in the physical world? What delights your senses and nourishes your spirit?
Now is the time to sink into it fully. To pause. To savor. To receive.
A note to the skeptics out there
Yes, we’re talking astrology — and that might turn you off. But hear me out…I believe there’s something valuable here, even for the most stubborn skeptic. All it takes is a small mindset shift.
Astrology is an energetic compass. It helps us navigate seasonal cycles and flow with the natural momentum of life. But it’s also practical: a tool for evaluating different areas of our lives, without getting lost in the "woo woo” of it all.
We cycle through twelve zodiac signs every year, each one bringing a unique opportunity to explore a different aspect of ourselves.
Taurus is all about rebuilding — grounding into and savoring life, creating something solid and lasting.
This is The Fun Part
Right on schedule, I woke up on the first day of Taurus season, with a realization: "Oh... this is the fun part."
For the past six months, I’ve done everything that was asked of me. I showed up, even when it felt like I might die of a broken heart. I endured the complete unraveling of everything I thought I knew, about myself and the people I was in relationship with. I became willing to see and release old beliefs, patterns, and coping mechanisms that were keeping me stuck in a life that was making me sick.
I showed up, contended with the chaos, sat in the confusion, and cleared the rubble. And now, after a whole lot of heavy lifting, it’s time to shift gears.
It’s time to rebuild my sense of self— to go back and recover the person I was before the world told me who I was supposed to be. It’s time to rediscover the little girl who came into this world 43 years ago, and to reclaim all the parts and pieces of her that faded away as she molded herself into a person that felt safe to be in a big scary world.
And how better to do that than by leaning into Taurus energy and tuning into what sparks her spirit? What is she excited about? What does she want? What brings her joy?
You see, every one of us carries a little person inside — the truest version of ourselves — the one who holds the key to the life we’re meant to live. A little person we’ve spent decades ignoring, dismissing, or silencing.
Taurus season is the perfect time to coax that little person out of hiding.
By listening to those subtle, almost imperceptible urges that say:
Wear the sweater. The one that’s a little shabby, but feels so warm, comfortable and familiar.
Listen to the music you loved when you were little. The songs that came on the radio and made your heart sing. The ones you still know every word of. (For me it’s La Bamba, New Kids On The Block and Disney soundtracks)
Make, or order, the treats you craved as a child. (I still love peanut buster parfaits)
Go to the movies. Watch something purely entertaining with zero substance. (I like to go by myself! Don’t knock it ‘till you try it friends)
Wander into an art store, thrift shop, bookstore, the toy aisle — touch everything. Buy something frivolous. (I find myself in the Barbie section more than I care to admit)
Go to the juvenile nonfiction section of the library and geek out with picture books. Pick something you were really excited about as a child: Horses, Ghosts, Dinosaurs, Heavy Machinery, Knights in Shining Armor, Weird Science, etc. (Just go and peruse the shelves, something will pop out at you)
Play adult dress up. Do it in your closet, at a second hand store or at the mall. Pick out the pieces you would “never” wear but somehow still call to you (I love to let my spunky little girl pick out outfits. Even if i’m just parading around my house.)
Go outside and look at everything. Crouch down and inspect the grass. Pick up pretty rocks and put them in your pocket. Find a really good stick and bring it home. Pick up a filthy feather even though you aren’t supposed to. (The natural world is full of treasures. The beach is my favorite place to find them)
These are not just whims.
They are breadcrumbs leading us home.
Every time we listen to one of these small nudges, we invite that little person we once knew to step forward a little more — to reveal themselves and participate in our lives.
If you’ve spent much time with children as an adult, you know they carry a special kind of magic.
They make old things feel new.
They shed fresh light on tired experiences.
They breathe life into things that once felt lost to us.
When we listen to our own inner child, we invite that kind of magic back into our lives.
Try it. See what happens. Notice if a little color bleeds back into your world.
You can thank me later.
Heal Your Inner Child and Free Yourself From Old Limiting Beliefs | Mindful Movement
28 minutes | All Levels | Beginner Friendly
I’ve been exploring inner child meditations for about a year now. They each bring their own flavor depending on the teacher—but the ones that really work all seem to share a few key elements. This one has them all.
Practicing along with it was powerful. I dropped in quickly and stayed fully immersed the entire time. I was honestly shocked when it ended. Half an hour had flown by! If you’re curious about inner child work, this is a great place to start.

Never underestimate the power of a simple mantra and a gentle asana practice. This class is a classic, one I’ve returned to for years, and I believe I even shared it back in one of the first Root&Rise issues.
I’m sharing it again because it feels appropriate. We all need a reminder of our worth now and then. So here’s yours…along with an invitation to slow down and do something that feels good for your body, mind, and soul.
