Hey friends,
This week’s issue is a little different. It’s been a week. So good in so many ways, but also a bit exhausting.
Mother’s Day weekend was wonderful. We took a little trip across the water with a bunch of relatives, explored beaches and hiking trails, wandered through charming coastal towns, sat around the campfire and soaked up each other’s company. I came home full to the brim with gratitude for my big, beautiful family. They’re such a fun, unique crew, and the best support system a girl could ask for.

The days that followed were full, too. There was a lot of work to be done around our house, getting our yard cleaned up and ready for summer. We also prepped for the upcoming fishing season. Commercial fishing is a family business and everyone gets involved in one way or another.
We ended the week with another campfire, more family time, and s’mores.

Woven through all the busyness was some serious emotional labor. A lot came up for me, and I did my best to move through it with compassion and patience. It was good, necessary work but I’m feeling a little wrung out.
All that to say, I haven’t been feeling especially creative. So instead of a reflection, I’m offering a roundup of resources that supported me as I lived my life this week. I hope you find something useful here.
Back to our usual rhythm next Sunday.
Until then, happy practicing and joyful living.
With love,
Jenny
Yoga Nidra Healing Meditation For Heartache | Krysten Rose Yoga
1 Hour | All Levels | Beginner Friendly
This is such a comforting meditation. If you need to feel held, supported and a little less alone…this one is for you. Every moment of this Nidra is like a warm, loving hug. I return to it time and again, finding what I need in some of my darkest moments.
I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Somatic Exercises to Release Trauma | sheBREATHE
7 Minutes | All Levels | Beginner Friendly
After months of unpacking, processing, and peeling back the layers of my own sh!+, I’ve realized that it’s time to move out of my head and into my body.
I haven’t spent much time studying or exploring somatic movement, but I’m excited to begin. Thankfully, somatic healing is gaining popularity, and there’s a growing library of resources to learn from. I’ve been sifting through somatic based YouTube content and I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite finds in this and upcoming issues.
This specific practice is appealing because it is so accessible, gentle and soothing. If you’re new to somatic work like I am, this is a beautiful place to start.
Achieve Mental Clarity Through Yoga Nidra | NSDR | Rest & Restore
20 Minutes | All Levels | Beginner Friendly
I’ve been waiting for the right moment to dive into Ayla Nova’s 20-Minute Rest & Restore series since it came out five months ago and that moment is finally here.
I practice Yoga Asana & Nidra for a total of about 90 minutes each morning, first thing after getting out of bed. Lately, on days when I need a little extra support, I’ve been adding a shorter afternoon Nidra as well. The weather is warm, so I’ve been slipping out to our camper for those midday sessions and working my way through this 20-minute series.
It’s been glorious. This particular Nidra for mental clarity is a lovely all around practice, perfect for refreshing and refocusing your mind in the middle of the day. Enjoy!
Yoga for the Root Chakra - 15 Minutes to Ground & Balance Your First Chakra | Yoga With Joelle
16 Minutes | All Levels | Beginner Friendly
I recently switched my main Sankalpa (the intention/affirmation I use in my personal practice) to “I am safe.” Alongside that, I’ve been doing a lot of root chakra and grounding work.
While I have my go to, tried and true classes (many of which I’ve shared here before), sometimes I crave something new. I found this class last week while searching for fresh content, gave it a whirl during my morning practice, and immediately added it to my regular rotation.
It’s a thoughtful, refreshing addition to my Grounding/Root Chakra playlist—and I hope you like it as much as I did.
Stop Giving a F*ck | Carl Jung | Psyphoria
22 Minutes | For Everyone
If you feel like getting a little freaky this week (specifically with your shadow) this is a great listen. I was surprised by how closely the message aligned with what I’m moving through right now.
I’ve been digging deep into my past to uncover the hidden beliefs, wounds and patterns that keep leading me into the same types of situations, experiences and relationships over and over and over again. It has been an intense and enlightening venture. I’ve learned so much about myself and I can really see how the truths I’ve discovered will alter the way I behave moving forward.
Anyway, if any of that made sense to you or sounded intriguing…watch the video. You’ll like it.
The End! Have a Great Week. See you next Sunday.
Thanks for sharing these especially the yoga Nidra. I have a hard time getting into the body and out of my busyness. I’m working on it though.
